HYSTERIA: If you could describe your art in a few sentences, how would you describe it?

 

SSTUPIDCUP1D: My main process is finding photos that inspire me and turning them into blackwork designs for tattoos. I do a lot of celebrity/movie character portraits based on people I like and people I've seen trending that I think would be popular. One of my favorite techniques to do is taking vintage photographs and turning them into my style.

 

HYSTERIA: What made you want to become a tattoo artist? How did you get started?

 

SSTUPIDCUP1D: I've been an artist for as long as I can remember but when I was in high school I decided I wanted to be a tattoo artist. During high school, I started giving myself stick n pokes for fun and that was when I decided I wanted to stick with that. After I graduated the idea of being a tattoo artist got pushed aside but it was always a persistent thought in the back of my head.

 

I had an art portfolio started but I went through a breakup at the beginning of the year making art helped and that was what motivated me to finish it. I started looking for apprenticeships while promoting myself on Instagram and that's when I had a shop reach out to me because of my art. I taught myself everything I needed to know with a little help and now I have my tattoo license.
